Well, it's been like almost 3 months since i last posted, and if i remember correctly i wrote about the vacation i took and about the last few days of my first year of college....
Not a whole lot has happened since then except at the beginning of July i went on a mission trip to the Rosebud Indian Reservation which is about 5 hours from where i live, and we taught kids about God, and played games with them, and provided care for them from ten in the morning till three in the afternoon. At the end of the day i was tired but managed to stay awake until i went to bed. It was a fun week because my little sister also went so i had her with me. Also, my sister's friend came with us so we had so much fun. One of the kids who went with us, is a foster child so we learned all about how he is a ward of the state. That mens, that the state owns him but his foster parents are given rights to him. It was a very interesting conversation and i enjoyed learning about the foster system and what happens to foster kids when they come of age (age 18).
A few days ago, we got back from our family reunion in Iowa. We pitched tents in my uncles yard and went on hikes, and went to the pond and took pictures of the sunset, and took pictures of each other being goofy. We had a professional picture taken this year and my Uncle Lee said that we should not bring anything trendy, it just had to be approriate, BUT, me and my cousin were wondering what trendy was. So we both agreed to bring our "trendiest" clothes, we really didn't bring anything trendy but we wanted to see how the others would react when we told them that we only brought our trendiest clothes along with us.
It did not rain the entire reunion which was awesome, but it was hot, and the first morning we woke up and the tent was alll dewy..which wasn't that bud but my mistake was i bumped the tent and all the water dripped inside of the tent. so i made a mistake the very first morning. BUT i learned from it and the next times i did not bump the side of the tent so all the water soaked into the tent. The last day of our reunon we walked to the pond which was about a ten minute walk and went for a boat ride on the pond. it was fun, i was in the first crew, when the second set of cousins went, we threw rocks in the water to try to freak them out...it actually worked and my sister Malorie looked so scared..even though the little ones got a kick out of it, i was afraid that one would actually hit one of my little cuties in the boat. I am very glad that nothing injured one of my little cousins.
This coming Thursday i'm going to Chicago and i will be staying their for the 3 days after that..I am really excited to go, i'm going on a plane all by myself..YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But i'll write more about that when i get back..
Until next time!!!!
